I wrote and executive-produced the podcast RORSCHACH: MURDER AT CITY HALL based on my thesis at j-school about a shooting at NYC City Hall in 2003, for iHeart Radio. I was in High School when it happened, and I watched as it was forgotten, even by most of my fellow New Yorkers. Trying to tell this story respectfully and as fully as possible, to preserve the memory of what happened, understand the complex men at its center, and give a larger insight into the city at a turning point, in the aftermath of 9/11, has been one my most long-gestating and meaningful projects so far. It’s hosted by Jamal Jordan, with music by Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio and Wilder Zoby, and features an array of incredible New York accents that you will have to hear to believe. I talked to City and State about it.
My writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker's "Daily Shouts", The Paris Review “Daily,” McSweeney's Internet Tendency, The Believer, The Rumpus, Columbia Global Reports, The Brooklyn Eagle and elsewhere.
